What's In Your Bag With Michael LeBlanc

What bag are you carrying and why is it your favorite?
I'm currently carrying the Kelly Boy 2.0. I truly can't imagine working with a bag more durable, versatile and spacious.

Tell us about some of the items you choose to carry.
Although the Kelly Boy 2.0 can carry a lot, I try to pack as light as I can. My camera gear (DSLR, 2 lenses), a Flash, shotgun microphone, Bluetooth headphones (for the vibes), notebook, utility knife, laptop and plant of SD cards.

What's the one thing in your bag that you absolutely can't live without?
My Laptop! It's the hub of all I do, creative and otherwise. Can't live without it.

How do you pack your bag for a shoot? Share some tips you've learned in carrying your gear.
Like I mentioned earlier, I have a lot of space in the Kelly Boy, so I try to ask myself, "What do I REALLY need for this shoot and what could stay behind?" I tend to carry my bag as I shoot, so it's good to have a bag packed with the duration of the photoshoot in mind.

When you're on set / location, what do you like about this bag? How does it help you manage your needs while shooting?
The versatility of the velcro separators can not be understated. It allows me to customize my bag for each shoot.

Talk about the organization features inside and out that make life a bit easier for you.
The aforementioned separators are a huge help to keep my items organized and visible at a moment's notice. A necessity on the shoot.

Where is your favorite place that you've brought your bag?
Too many spots to mention. I literally have it with me most days.

What's your favorite shoot / memory with your bag?
I once did a photo shoot at a local park that closes at sundown. I had all of my equipment (camera on a tripod and flash)set up and was not anywhere near packing everything with 5 minutes till closing of the park. I even had the park guard staring me down as I finally realized the time. I quickly broke down my equipment, threw the majority of it in my Kelly Boy and booked it to my car with 1 minute to spare till closing!
