During my teenage years, I thought traditions were dumb. I wanted to be different, not attached to anything. But the older I get, the more I realize how important traditions are, and how much I do truly love and appreciate having them.
This blog isn’t really a tip, but I think it's important to talk about. In the hustle and bustle of the season, let's not forget to take time to make traditions for ourselves. They can be simple things yet, when it is all done, this is what we will remember.
For our family, there are a few things that I look forward to every year. First and foremost there’s the night where we decorate the tree, drink hot chocolate, and watch “White Christmas.” Then per usual, I spend at least 30 minutes googling "why does Vera-Ellen wear turtlenecks" and, "what happened to Vera-Ellen." If you don't know who she is, do you even like Christmas?
We also always make a point to make homemade Christmas ornaments to hang on the tree. Below you can see just a few that we've made over the years.
So, the moral of the story is take time to make memories. You won't regret it!
Happy Memory Making,
Kelly
