Posey’s New Room

Posey’s New Room

Well, I’ve done it again.  I’ve redone another room in our house.  When we first moved into our house, we pretty much remodeled the entire thing, and I was in a daring mood.  I tried all the colors that I’d always been afraid to try.  2 months into it, and I was itching to repaint.  You can see Posey’s original PINK room here.  Don’t get me wrong, it was really cute, but it was just too much.  I got to where I didn’t even want to go in there because it gave me a pink headache!

Before I redid this room, I gave it some time.  I wanted it to be right, so I waiting until I found the perfect inspiration piece before I began.  When I came across these 2 sweet antique little girl beds from the 1920’s, I knew it was meant to be.  I’d been thinking about moving the girls into one room anyway….you know, just in case we need our 3rd room for another baby someday  I decided to cover her walls in wood. Our house is on pier and beam, so we have issues with sheet rock wanting to crack due to our house shifting with the season, so this was the perfect solution.  We painted it all white, and it’s absolutely divine.  It’s my new favorite room in the house!

It’s still not completely finished, but those final touches will come naturally as I find the right things to add to the white walls…don’t want to rush things!

Here is a list of things in the room:

Paint: Sherwin Williams, “Crushed Ice”
Beds: Sorry, you won’t find these anywhere!  They are antiques from the 1920’s!
Yellow Rug: The Land of Nod
Bubble Gum Lamps: The Land of Nod
White Quilts: Pottery Barn
Moth Identification Chart Print
Beetle Identification Chart Print
String Lights
Pillows: Caitlin Wilson Textiles
Book Ledges: We made them!
